There’s a good reason why you don’t hear from Cameron Diaz anymore. Not only has she stopped making box office movies, but she’s retreated herself from the limelight altogether. Cameron Diaz used to be one of the highest paid actresses in the entertainment industry. These days, all she wants to be is a normal California girl doing normal everyday things with her close friends and her family. In other words, she’s living a total anti-Hollywood lifestyle.
Then again, Cameron’s fans aren’t surprised that she’s no longer hitting up all the A-list hot spots or walking the red carpet anymore. She has achieved all that she needed to achieve. Plus, the celebrity lifestyle was never for her. She is not the kind of person that needs to push her agenda out to the public. She also doesn’t waste her time caring about what people think of her or try to push sequels of her movies that shouldn’t be made. One of the reasons why her fans love her so much is because she has never been affected by the Hollywood bug. Cameron knows who she is and has managed to stay true to herself all these years. She Doesn’t Want To Make Movies Anymore
We are sure that a lot of people have noticed that Cameron Diaz is no longer making movies. The last time she starred in a movie was back in 2014 in Annie. Since then, she’s been living a very low-key lifestyle outside of Hollywood. She’s taken a break from the industry to allow herself to breathe and “normalize” her life. And so far it seems to be working well for her.
But that doesn’t mean Cameron is gone for good. She never said that she was officially retiring (at least we hope not). This is a break, and nothing else. She once said, “Acting is something different to everybody. I just know that if you watch an actor or actress getting better and better, I think that's them just understanding themselves better and better.”
She’s Not Controversial
Can you remember the last time Cameron Diaz said, wore, or did something controversial? We didn’t think so. And there’s a good reason for that: Cameron Diaz is one of the least controversial actresses that the celebrity world has ever seen. You just can’t put her name and scandal in the same sentence because nothing like that has ever happened. She truly is one of Hollywood’s good girls. She doesn’t live by the mantra that any kind of publicity is good publicity. She doesn’t get under people’s skin on purpose, nor does she want to, either.
As a matter of fact, if Cameron has ever said something controversial in her life, it’s probably this: “If you really want to torture me, sit me in a room strapped to a chair and put Mariah Carey's records on.” We are sure the famous diva wasn't happy about that comment!
She Doesn’t Do Social Media
A lot of Hollywood actresses know that the only way you can survive in the industry today is if you have a brand. You also need a strong presence on social media. All of the big A-list stars from Gwyneth Paltrow to Reese Witherspoon do it. But not Cameron Diaz. Even though she does have an Instagram account, she rarely uses it. She’s just not into social media.
But at the same time, Cameron knows she has to be a realist. Reaching out to your audience is all part of your job and the promotional game. It might suck at times, but that’s part of the lifestyle she signed up for. She once said, “You don't want to be photographed? You don't want to be known? Then you don't need to be out there peddling movies.” She understands that the paparazzi will still follow her, even if she tries her best to avoid it.
She Doesn’t Do Red Carpets
Oftentimes a lot of Hollywood stars like to show up to premieres, award shows and celebrity events even though they have nothing to promote. Plus, she knows the value of a hard-earned dollar. Cameron has said, “I can't think of anything that anyone has ever accomplished without having some sort of self-discipline. Without knowing how to work for it. Without learning how to earn it.”
She Doesn’t Talk About Her Marriage
People often forget that Cameron Diaz has been married to her husband Benji Madden since 2015. Why? Because she doesn’t talk about it. And she certainly doesn’t like to be photographed with him in public, either. Cameron has a black belt in avoiding every celebrity trap possible.
Now, just because Cameron doesn’t talk about her marriage, that doesn’t mean she’s not happy. She’s said, “You have to find someone in the same place as you are. Timing is everything. A lot of celebrities want you to believe that living somewhere like Los Angeles is very difficult. That’s because the paparazzi is supposedly waiting for you in every corner. But not for Cameron Diaz. She knows how to navigate the city without getting caught by the cameras.

We are sure that you have noticed that there are some Hollywood actresses out there that would never dare to go bare. And no, we are not talking about that kind of “going bare.” We mean by never showing up in public without their full face of makeup on. But Cameron isn’t like that. One of the great things about Cameron Diaz is that she’s a laid-back California girl. She’s all about the sun, the sand and the surf. Jennifer, on the other hand, really does put in a lot of effort in making sure that she’s always liked by everyone. She always wants to be on the Best Dressed list, too. Cameron is nothing like that. But on the other hand, I find the website stuff, and the polls, something completely removed from my own personal life. If there’s only one reason you need to fall in love with someone like Cameron Diaz, it’s this one. The girl is not interested in pleasing anyone in Hollywood but herself. You can tell that she’s always been anti-industry because she doesn’t talk about how wonderful all of the executive producers are in Hollywood. Nope, not our Cameron! And she certainly doesn’t waste her time blowing kisses at them during awards shows, either. She’s got better things to do, like living her life by her own rules.
Also, Cameron knows how to stand her ground. She knows how to say no during the right times as well. She’s once said, “I hate committing myself to anything. It's probably the lack of discipline, honestly. I'm probably a spoiled brat worried about getting my way every time.”
She’s A Charlie’s Angel
Cameron Diaz is truly a good person at heart, and you can’t say that about every Hollywood star out there. That’s because she’s one person who treats everyone the same, regardless of who they are or where they comes from.
Back in 2017, the actress lost her wallet at an upscale restaurant in Beverly Hills. Before making her way into hotspot Matsushia, Cameron unknowingly dropped her wallet. Thankfully, a homeless woman picked it up and walked inside the restaurant in search of Cameron. We hear that Cameron was very grateful that the woman returned her wallet intact. Anyone else would have called the cops on the homeless woman or freaked out about the situation, but not Cameron Diaz. That’s because she truly sees the good in everybody and everything. She is truly a kind-hearted soul.
